What are the SEC previewer options?

The SEC previewer options allow you to change certain behavior for the SEC previewer software and the Proof to SEC Previewer function. Options for the previewer can be accessed by clicking on the Publish button on the File Ribbon and choosing the Edit Previewer Options menu item.

The following options are available:

Python Path
The installation directory for the Python Scripting language. Python is used by the SEC's previewer. When you run the Proof to SEC Previewer function, Python will be installed in a default location. You can change that location in these options or point to a location where Python is already installed.
Previewer Path
The installation directory for the SEC previewer software. When you run the Proof to SEC Previewer function, the SEC previewer software will be installed in a default location. You can change that location in these options or point to a location where the previewer is already installed.
Timeout
The time the function will wait in seconds while the SEC previewer builds the proof. If the SEC previewer software takes longer than the value in this field without producing any output, the function will cancel the operation.
Include Rendering Log
Includes a tab to view a log of the previewer process in the final proof. This will be a tab on the resulting HTML proof that shows any errors that were encountered during the previewer process.
Disclosure Mode Pragmatic
Sets the previewer disclosure mode to pragmatic. This means that the previewer will only render documents that use a taxonomy that is explicitly supported by the installed version of the previewer. For example, a version of the previewer that does not support US GAAP 2020 will fail when attempting to render a report that uses the US GAAP 2020 taxonomy if the previewer is running in pragmatic mode. If the previewer is not in pragmatic mode, it will attempt to render the report (though items may be missing documentation or have other issues).

The options dialog also displays non-editable information like the most current taxonomy being used by the previewer software as well as its version number. If you find that you are encountering fatal errors during the preview process, you can also use the Repair button to repair the previewer installation, which will verify that the previewer and Python were properly installed and have not been corrupted by an outside source.
